19:00pm, Jordan's Castle

Opening Event

Opening speech accompanied by an Uillean piper. Recapturing the atmosphere of the opening night in 1911 when Francis Joseph Bigger first came to live in the castle.

May 04, 2018

11:00am, Chapeltown

A walk along the cliffs of Sheepland exploring the heritage of the landscape loved by Francis Joseph Bigger. Visit the well made by Saint Patrick. See the statue of Our Lady of Dunsford restored by FJB. Discover the heritage of Ardtole Church excavated by him too.

 

Tickets are £20. The walk is fully guided by Duane Fitzsimons and lunch will be provided at Currans Bar.

The Bigger Picture

Coach tour of all of the Lecale sites worked at by FJB. First we arrive at Saint Patrick's Grave, followed by the Down County Museum. Afterwards we head out to Raholp to Saint Tassach's Church. Visiting Chapeltown we discover the remarkabe tale of Our Lady of Dunsford. Finally we explore Ardtole Church just outside of Ardglass.
